Universe One ("Universe One", "we", "us") operates the Universe One social news platform at https://universeone.me. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
We use Google Analytics and our own view counters to understand how the platform is used, such as page views, feeds visited, and post views. Google Analytics uses cookies and may collect your IP address and device information, subject to your cookie choice.
We use essential storage to keep you signed in and remember your settings. With your consent, we and our ad partners use cookies for advertising and analytics. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie preferences link at the bottom of this page.
We keep your account information while your account is active. Content you delete is removed from the platform. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, posts, comments, and messages within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons.
During Beta, Universe One is only for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and we delete it if we learn we have.
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and limited staff access to protect your information. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong password and keep your login private.
We may update this policy. We will change the date below and, for significant changes, notify members in the app.
Questions or requests about your privacy can be sent through the Contact form in the Universe One app or on https://universeone.me.
Site Rules, Terms of Service, and Privacy Policy for the Universe One Beta.
To create an account, you must be 18 years or older. During Beta the Platform is adults-only: child accounts, parental controls, and guardian-managed accounts are not offered, and age is self-reported at sign-up. Accounts are not permanently suspended or deleted by the system—only you can choose to delete your account. Repeated attempts to post prohibited material may trigger a temporary, automatic posting restriction that lifts on its own.
Every member shares responsibility for maintaining a healthy, respectful environment where everyone can engage freely. We all contribute to a safe and welcoming community.
Text is screened automatically at the time of posting for illegal and prohibited material. This screening is keyword-based and will not catch everything. Members do not upload media at all in this version: posts and messages are text and links only, and the only images a member can upload are their own profile avatar and banner, which are checked for file type and size but are not screened for what they depict by any automated or AI system. Adult, sexual, or explicit imagery is strictly prohibited and is enforced after the fact, through the contact form and administrator removal. Video upload is disabled entirely in this version. You can report or flag a post, comment, message, or member directly in the app; reports are stored with your account and reviewed on a best-effort basis, and heavily flagged content may be restricted automatically. You can also bring anything to the site owner's attention through the contact form. You also shape your own experience with the content filter tiers, hiding posts, and blocking accounts.
This user-controlled model keeps moderation power in members' hands rather than with administrators, preserving free expression while letting each person decide what they see.

By accessing or using Universe One ("the Platform," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Platform. You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account. The Platform does not offer child accounts or parent-managed accounts.
Universe One is a non-partisan digital platform designed to empower citizens to engage with current events, evaluate multiple perspectives, and collaboratively surface solutions to national challenges. The Platform provides:
Universe One is committed to political neutrality. The Platform does not endorse, promote, or oppose any political party, candidate, or ideology. AI-generated briefings, questions, and solutions are produced to present a range of viewpoints without labeling them as "left," "right," or "center." Users are expected to evaluate ideas on their own merit. The Platform's AI systems are tools for information and discussion, not instruments of political advocacy.
You agree to:
Universe One is free to use and ad-supported. The only paid product is the optional Ad-Free Subscription, a recurring monthly plan billed through our payment processor that removes advertising from your experience while it is active and can be canceled at any time in Settings. Declining or dismissing the cookie notice does not remove advertising: the Platform's own sponsored placements are served from our servers to every non-subscriber, including on VPN and Tor connections, and the Ad-Free Subscription is the only way to opt out of ads. Third-party network ads may be blocked by some browsers, extensions, or networks. The Platform's revenue is generated through sponsorships and partnerships and through the various advertising integrations described in Sections 34, 45, and 46 — including Platform-served placements and third-party embedded ad network code. The Platform also features a virtual currency called "U1 Coins," which is earned through engagement and is not sold. U1 Coins cannot be purchased, have no monetary value outside the Platform, are non-transferable, and may not be redeemed for cash. If a paid product is ever introduced, these Terms will be updated and notice given before it applies to you.
All Platform software, design, branding, and original content are owned by Universe One or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of content you upload, but by publishing it on the Platform you grant the licenses described in Section 7 below.
Any content you publish publicly on Universe One becomes public domain material. This applies to publicly visible material only — direct and group messages, and profile fields you have set to private, are not licensed as public domain. By publishing content—including posts, comments, solutions, ideas, votes, or any publicly visible material—you grant Universe One and all users an irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, distribute, and display such content in any form or medium. This includes use for training AI models, research, analytics, and commercial purposes. If you wish to restrict how your content is used, mark it as private or do not publish it on the Platform.
Content produced by the Platform's AI systems—including briefings, questions, solutions, images, and Julia AI responses—is generated by machine learning models and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. AI models may produce phenomena commonly known as "AI hallucinations," where the system generates plausible-sounding but factually incorrect, fabricated, or misleading information. This includes but is not limited to: fabricated quotes, misattributed statements, invented statistics, misrepresented source content, or false claims presented with confidence. While the Platform cites verified sources and employs fact-checking mechanisms, no AI system is infallible. AI-generated content is not a substitute for professional journalism, legal advice, medical advice, or financial guidance. You must independently verify any information before relying on it. You are solely responsible for evaluating and acting on any information provided by the Platform. Universe One is not liable for decisions made based on AI-generated content, including decisions based on hallucinated or inaccurate outputs.
The Platform's solution-voting feature allows users to vote on AI-generated solutions for national issues. Voting outcomes represent community consensus among participating users and do not constitute official policy, legislation, or binding decisions. Universe One is not obligated to implement any solution regardless of vote count.
Universe One screens submitted text automatically at the time of posting and blocks clearly illegal or prohibited material. This screening is keyword and pattern based, is not comprehensive, and will not detect all violating content. There is no automated, visual, or AI screening of image content anywhere on the Platform. Members cannot attach media to posts or messages at all in this version; the only member uploads that remain enabled are profile avatar and banner images, which are validated for file type and size only. Adult, sexual, or explicit imagery is strictly prohibited and is enforced only after publication, through the contact form, blocked-media records, and administrator removal. Video upload is disabled. Repeated blocked submissions may result in a temporary, automatic restriction on posting, which expires without administrator action. The Platform offers in-app reporting and flagging of posts, comments, messages, and members. Reports are stored with the reporting account, reviewed on a best-effort basis, and guarantee no reply, removal, or particular outcome; content that accumulates a high volume of community flags within a short window may be restricted automatically. Concerns may also be raised through the contact form, which is likewise read on a best-effort basis. The Platform does not issue automatic permanent account suspensions. Members manage their own experience through content filter tiers, hiding posts, and blocking accounts. We reserve the right to remove unlawful content and to act where required by law.
The Platform is restricted to adults aged 18 and older during Beta. Child accounts, parental controls, and guardian-managed accounts are not offered in this version. Age is self-reported at sign-up and is not independently verified during Beta; by creating an account you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old. Accounts found to belong to a minor will be removed. Because age is self-reported, Universe One cannot guarantee that every account holder is an adult and is not liable for content encountered by a person who created an account in violation of this requirement.
Accounts created by a person under 18. The current system is not intended for use by children. Because age cannot be verified during Beta, an account created by someone under 18 is treated like any other account until it is discovered: session and preference cookies, the in-app advertising system, ad delivery records, and U1 Coin activity telemetry all run on it. A person under 18 who creates an account violates these Terms and is subject to a ban of the account, forfeiture of all U1 Coins and participation credits earned, and loss of the ad tracking and ad delivery information associated with the account, which is deleted along with it. Forfeited U1 Coins are not restored and have no cash value. This is an exception to the general account-removal limits in Section 15.
The Marketplace is not available to members during Beta, and advertisements are created only by the Platform's administrators in this version. The terms in this section apply to those features whenever they are enabled. Users who list items in the Marketplace or create advertisements are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and delivery of their offerings. Universe One facilitates these features but is not a party to transactions between users. Advertising content is subject to review and may be rejected or removed at our discretion. Advertisers are responsible for complying with all applicable advertising laws and disclosure requirements.
Universe One actively blocks Meta (Facebook) tracking scripts, pixels, and cookies on the Platform. We do not share user data with Meta for advertising or tracking purposes. However, third-party content embedded by users or external links may have their own tracking practices outside our control.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Universe One and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of—or inability to use—the Platform. This includes, but is not limited to, loss of data, loss of U1 Coins, reputational harm, or reliance on AI-generated content. You use the Platform at your own risk.
You may delete your account at any time through the Platform's settings. The Platform does not operate an automated suspension or termination system; we reserve the right to remove accounts only where required by law, in response to unlawful activity, or where an account belongs to a person under 18 (see Section 11). Upon deletion or removal, published content may remain on the Platform as public domain material in accordance with Section 7.
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that AI-generated content will be accurate or complete. No advice or information obtained from the Platform constitutes professional advice of any kind.
We may update these Terms periodically. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-platform notification. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida and applicable U.S. federal law, as detailed in Section 41. Disputes will be resolved through binding individual arbitration seated in Florida where permitted by law, and you waive the right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration to the fullest extent permitted.
Accounts are created through the platform's sign-in providers, which may include Google, Apple, or email. When you sign in with a third-party provider, that provider shares limited profile information (such as your name and email address) with us, and your use of that provider remains governed by its own terms and privacy policy. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, for keeping your sign-in method secure, and for notifying us promptly of any unauthorized access. One person may maintain one account; automated account creation, bots, and shared credentials are prohibited.
Direct and group messages are private between participants and are not monitored by staff. Message text passes through the same automatic screening applied to posts, and messages may be rate-limited to prevent spam. Messages are stored on our systems so they can be delivered and displayed, and are visible to every participant in the conversation — including anyone who screenshots, copies, or forwards them. Deleting a message removes it from the conversation view but does not guarantee removal from another participant's device or from backups. Do not use messaging to transmit sensitive personal, financial, medical, or confidential information.
Video upload and video feeds are disabled during Beta, and members cannot attach media to posts or messages; links are the supported way to share outside material, and the only member uploads that remain enabled are profile avatar and banner images. Media attachments and video may or may not be reintroduced later. You represent that you own or have all necessary rights to everything you upload, including rights to any music, footage, likeness, or trademark it contains, and that its publication does not violate the privacy or publicity rights of any person. Prohibited uploads include sexually explicit material, content depicting minors in any sexualized context, graphic violence, and any material that is unlawful to distribute. Uploads are validated for file type and size only and are not screened for what they depict by any automated, visual, or AI system; imagery an administrator finds to be prohibited is blocked and recorded after the fact. File size, format, and storage limits may be applied or changed at any time, and media may be transcoded, compressed, or removed for technical or legal reasons.
We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe material on the Platform infringes your copyright, send a notice to the site's primary contact, Nicholas Ishak, at NicholasIshak@universeone.me including: identification of the copyrighted work, identification and location of the allegedly infringing material, your contact information, a statement of good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized, a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on the owner's behalf, and your signature. We will remove or disable access to material that is the subject of a valid notice and may terminate accounts of repeat infringers. You may submit a counter-notice if you believe material was removed in error.
Certain features may ask you to upload a government-issued identification document. ID uploads are used only to check age and authenticity; we store a hashed reference and the last four digits of the document number rather than the full number, and ID verification is not enforced during Beta. Submitting a forged, altered, or another person's identification document is prohibited and may be reported to authorities. Phone number collection, phone verification, and SMS notifications are not offered during Beta; the Platform does not ask for or send text messages in this version. If SMS is introduced in a later release, it will require your separate consent and these Terms will be updated first.
Some features allow you to post comments, questions, solutions, or tips without your name displayed. Anonymous display does not make content unattributable internally: submissions remain linked to your account for abuse prevention and legal compliance, and the same content rules and automatic screening apply. Scraping, crawling, bulk data extraction, automated posting, vote manipulation, artificial engagement, and any use of the Platform's AI outputs to train competing models are prohibited without our prior written permission.
The Platform is an early-stage Beta product offered for research and development. Features may fail, change, or be removed without notice; briefings may not generate; posts, votes, messages, and uploads may fail to save; and data may be reset, corrupted, or lost during Beta updates. We do not guarantee any level of uptime, backup, or data durability during Beta. Export anything you care about from Settings → Data & Privacy and never rely on the Platform as the sole copy of important information or for emergency, medical, legal, or financial decisions.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Universe One, its operators, and its service providers from any claim, demand, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of content you submit, your use or misuse of the Platform, your violation of these Terms or applicable law, or your infringement of any third party's rights, including transactions you conduct through the Marketplace.
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Site Rules, constitute the entire agreement between you and Universe One regarding the Platform. You are also responsible for complying with U.S. export control and sanctions laws when using the Platform.
The Platform's AI assistant, journaling tools, reflection prompts, assignments, and wellness-oriented features are provided for personal information and self-reflection only. They are not therapy, counseling, medical care, diagnosis, treatment, or crisis intervention, and they do not create a therapist-patient, physician-patient, attorney-client, or fiduciary relationship of any kind. No licensed professional reviews your entries, conversations, or activity. Nothing on the Platform should be used as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional, and you should never delay seeking professional help because of something generated here. If you are experiencing a medical, psychological, or safety emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately — the Platform cannot detect or respond to emergencies, self-harm risk, or abuse.
The Platform displays advertisements and sponsored placements in the feed, and may publish sponsored briefings that are labeled as such. Sponsored briefings pass through the same fact-validation and neutrality process as any other briefing, but payment or sponsorship does not constitute endorsement, verification, or a recommendation of any advertiser, product, service, or claim. Universe One is not responsible for the goods, services, offers, or third-party websites reached through an advertisement, and any dealing you have with an advertiser is solely between you and that advertiser. Advertisements delivered through third-party ad network code originate from that network, not from us, and may not appear at all if your browser or network blocks such scripts.
Automated briefing generation is controlled by an internal switch and may be paused, slowed, or stopped at any time without notice; no minimum number, frequency, or timeliness of briefings, sources, questions, or solutions is promised, and a briefing may be withheld entirely if it fails fact validation. Features visible in one release may be hidden, disabled, or removed in another. Messages you send to the administrators through in-platform contact forms are read on a best-effort basis: we do not guarantee a reply, a response time, or any particular outcome, and in-platform contact is not a channel for emergencies, legal notices other than as specified in these Terms, or time-critical matters.
Universe One does not vet, screen, background-check, or verify the identity of its members, and displayed names, ages, avatars, locations, and biographical details are self-reported and may be inaccurate or deliberately false. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other members, including posts, comments, direct and group messages, friend connections, and any decision to meet, transact with, or share personal information with someone. We are not liable for the conduct of any member, whether online or offline, including harassment, fraud, impersonation, misuse of content you shared, or harm arising from a member relationship formed through the Platform. Protect yourself with the blocking, hiding, and privacy controls in Settings, and contact law enforcement directly if you believe a crime has occurred.
Briefings cite external news outlets, and members may share links whose titles, descriptions, and preview images are fetched automatically from the destination site. Those outlets and sites are independent of us: we do not control, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, availability, legality, or continued existence of any external article, link, preview, or embedded third-party content, and a cited source may later be corrected, paywalled, moved, or removed. Link previews are generated automatically and may be incomplete or misleading. Your use of any third-party site is governed by that site's own terms and privacy policy, and Universe One is not liable for anything you encounter, download, purchase, or rely on there.
Universe One is directly sponsored. The Platform is developed, funded, and operated with the support of Neural System Designs and FutureSmart, and may accept additional sponsors, underwriters, grant funders, affiliate partners, or paid placement partners at any time (collectively, "Sponsors"). Sponsor identification may appear as persistent site attribution (including footer attribution such as "Sponsored by Neural Systems Designs"), as named placements in a feed, as sponsored briefings or briefing segments, as sponsored Marketplace listings, or as branding inside the advertising system described in Section 34. Sponsorship is a commercial relationship and nothing more: a Sponsor does not select, approve, edit, veto, or preview the questions, solutions, sources, synthesis, rankings, or vote outcomes produced by the Platform, and Sponsors receive no editorial control over briefings and no access to your private content, messages, journals, or Julia conversations. Sponsor payment is never a representation that the Platform endorses a Sponsor's products, claims, or political positions, nor that a Sponsor endorses yours. Sponsors, affiliates, and partners may change, be added, or be terminated without notice, and revenue arrangements may include flat fees, revenue share, affiliate commissions, impression-based compensation, or in-kind support. Where the law requires a paid placement to be labeled, we label it; where a Sponsor supplies its own creative, that creative is the Sponsor's statement and not ours. You agree that your sole remedy for any dispute arising out of a Sponsor's goods, services, offers, claims, or landing pages is against that Sponsor, and that Universe One, Neural System Designs, and FutureSmart are not parties to that dispute.
The Platform operates two distinct advertising paths, and the distinction is legally material. (a) In-app placements are records created inside the Platform by an administrator — a title, sponsor name, image or video, call to action, and destination link — and are rendered by our own components. Their delivery is governed by a fixed system placement interval in the feed, a master on/off switch, an optional total impression limit that automatically pauses the placement when reached, and coarse audience constraints (region names and a minimum/maximum viewer age drawn from profile data or a stated date of birth). This is not behavioral profiling: it does not use your messages, journals, Julia conversations, or inferred sensitive characteristics. (b) Third-party embedded code placements execute an external ad network's snippet (for example an AdSense-style embed) directly on the page, in the slot allotted to it. Content, targeting, cookies, measurement, and compliance for embedded ads are controlled by that network under its own terms and privacy policy, not by us; we do not pre-screen individual creatives served through it, cannot guarantee that any specific creative appears, and cannot guarantee that any specific creative does not appear. If your browser, extension, DNS resolver, VPN, or network blocks third-party ad scripts, embedded placements may render blank or be replaced with an in-app placement. Impression and click counting is best-effort, may be rate-limited, may under- or over-count, and is not an audited metric; no advertiser, Sponsor, or member is entitled to guaranteed reach, viewability, placement position, click volume, or performance. Clicking any advertisement takes you to a third-party destination at your own risk. Attempting to inflate, suppress, script, or otherwise manipulate impressions or clicks is a violation of these Terms.
"Julia" refers collectively to the Platform's automated briefing system and AI assistant. Every Julia briefing, headline, synthesis, question set, solution set, recurring-story update, source citation, and generated image is machine-produced by large language models operating on web-retrieved material, and is published under the Julia system identity rather than as the personal speech of any individual. You are entitled to know how that output comes to exist: an administrator can start and stop generation entirely, set the output volume, edit the governing generation prompt, create a briefing manually from their own supplied description, define recurring stories with their own framing and search terms, delete or archive published briefings, and control which placements appear alongside them. Administrator-authored and administrator-framed briefings pass through the same automated fact-validation, neutrality, and source-verification steps as fully automated ones, and an administrator's email may be recorded internally for attribution and audit even though the post is displayed as Julia. Those safeguards are automated, probabilistic, and fallible. Prompt editing, manual seeding, and recurring-story framing are capable of shaping emphasis, selection, and tone; validation can pass content that is wrong and can reject content that is right; a cited link may 404, be substituted by an automated recovery search, be paywalled, or be misattributed; and de-duplication may suppress a legitimately new development. Julia output is therefore not journalism, not a news service of record, not investment, legal, medical, or political advice, and not a statement of fact by Universe One or any Sponsor. Vote tallies on Julia questions and solutions reflect only the participating members and confer no mandate. You must independently verify anything you intend to rely on, and you accept that generated content may be edited, corrected, withheld, or removed at any time.
The Platform's public positioning is that members, not administrators, govern day-to-day expression. We disclose plainly how that is implemented, because the implementation defines the limits of the promise. There is no editorial staff, no moderation team, no human review queue operating around the clock, no appeals tribunal, no guaranteed review of any report you file, and no administrator who reads your posts, comments, or messages as a matter of routine. Governance is executed by technical mechanisms: keyword and pattern screening applied to submitted text; file-type and size validation on the few uploads that remain enabled (profile avatar and banner images), with no automated visual or AI screening of image content whatsoever; rate limits and flood controls; temporary, automatically expiring posting restrictions triggered by repeated blocked submissions; row-level data restrictions that limit what an account can read or write; and the member-side tools (filter tiers, hiding, blocking, privacy settings) that let each person shape their own experience. The consequences of that design are yours to accept: text screening is literal and will miss paraphrase, coded language, sarcasm, and novel harm; image content is not screened at all — uploading adult, sexual, or explicit imagery is strictly prohibited and is enforced only after the fact, through member reports and administrator removal of the account; media attachments have been removed from posts and from direct and group messages for members, so member conversations are text-only; in-app reporting and flagging of posts, comments, messages, and members exists, but reports are reviewed on a best-effort basis and a report — or a concern raised through the contact form — may produce no visible outcome, no reply, and no removal, with no guaranteed response time; unlawful content may remain visible until a technical control or a legal obligation reaches it; and administrators intervene chiefly where the law compels intervention, where a technical failure requires repair, or where a Sponsor or platform-integrity matter requires action. Nothing in the Platform's marketing, landing page, or feature descriptions creates a duty to moderate, a duty to rescue, a duty to detect, a duty to warn, or a contractual service level for safety enforcement, and no statement of intent to govern by technology shall be construed as a warranty that technology succeeded.
The Platform does not block virtual private networks, the Tor network, proxies, relays, private-relay features, or similar anonymizing or location-masking technology, and you may use them. You must understand what that means for every control that depends on knowing who or where you are. Region-based advertising constraints, locality-based feed content, age representations, rate limits, one-account-per-person rules, duplicate-account detection, and jurisdiction-specific legal handling all rely on self-reported profile data and unverified network signals, and are trivially defeated by a VPN, Tor, a fresh sign-in provider account, or false profile entries. We therefore make no representation that geographic restrictions, regional targeting, age gating, ban evasion prevention, or export and sanctions screening are technically effective. Conversely, anonymizing networks may degrade your own experience: sessions may drop, sign-in may fail, embedded ad code and link previews may not load, uploads may fail, rate limits may trigger sooner because many users share one exit address, and diagnostic logs may attribute activity inaccurately. Using such tools does not exempt you from these Terms or from the laws of your actual location; using them to evade a posting restriction, impersonate, manufacture engagement, circumvent an age requirement, or conceal unlawful activity is a breach of these Terms and may be unlawful independently. You remain solely responsible for compliance with the laws that apply where you actually are, including U.S. export control and sanctions law regardless of the location your connection reports.
Certain features let you publish comments, questions, solutions, or tips with your name hidden from other members. This is display-level anonymity only, and it is not a guarantee of untraceability. Your account remains internally associated with the submission for abuse prevention, duplicate-vote prevention, and legal compliance; that association can be disclosed in response to a lawful subpoena, court order, or law-enforcement request, and is visible to administrators with database access. Anonymity is further defeasible in practice: writing style, timing, unique facts, a screenshot you take, cross-posting the same text under your name, or a technical defect in a query or interface can reveal authorship, and content you anonymize is still published under the public-domain license in Section 7. Anonymity also invites abuse, and you accept the resulting environment: anonymous submissions are a vector for harassment, defamation, doxxing, brigading, sockpuppeting, coordinated vote manipulation, spam, and disclosure of another person's private information. Mitigations we may apply include rate limits, automated text screening, per-account submission caps, retained internal attribution, and disabling anonymous submission for a feature or entirely. Do not use anonymous features to say anything you could not lawfully say under your own name, and do not submit anything you would be harmed by having attributed to you. If you need genuine anonymity for whistleblowing, journalism, or personal safety, do not rely on this Platform.
We disclose known and reasonably foreseeable weaknesses rather than implying their absence. As a Beta product with no independent security certification, the Platform carries the following residual risks, each paired with the mitigation we apply or intend to apply. These disclosures are informational, are not a warranty that a mitigation works, and do not create liability for any listed risk.
If you discover a vulnerability, report it privately to us and do not exploit it, publicly disclose it, or access another member's data. Good-faith, non-destructive research reported privately will not be met with legal action by us; scanning that degrades service, mass data extraction, social engineering of members, and any access to real member data are outside that assurance.
Beta is adults-only and no minor may hold an account today. This Section is foundational and takes effect only if and when we expressly enable youth access in a later release, and it will be paired with an updated Privacy Policy and a separate notice before any minor data is collected. When enabled, the intended framework is tiered by age and grounded in verifiable parental consent: a child tier (under 13) requiring verifiable parental consent under the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act before any account exists, with data minimization, no behavioral advertising, no public posting or direct messaging by default, no marketplace access, and no anonymous submission; a young-teen tier (13–15) requiring guardian approval to activate the account, defaulting to the strictest content filter, private profile, restricted messaging, and guardian visibility; a teen tier (16–17) with strict-by-default filtering, restricted commerce and advertising exposure, and guardian linkage where local law requires it; and an automatic transition to an independent adult account upon turning 18. The framework contemplates guardian-managed accounts with linked parent and co-parent access, activity reporting, permission requests, screen-time and grounding controls, appeal and un-grounding workflows, emergency contacts, and audit trails of guardian actions — all bounded by the minor's own privacy interests and by law. It also contemplates compliance with age-appropriate design and youth-safety regimes as they apply, including COPPA and FTC rules, the Florida statute restricting social media accounts for younger minors and requiring parental consent for certain ages, state age-verification and age-appropriate design laws, the U.K. Age Appropriate Design Code, and the EU GDPR's rules on children's consent — including their verification, default-privacy, profiling-restriction, and dark-pattern prohibitions. Until we publish that notice, any account held by a person under 18 is unauthorized, will be removed on discovery, and no youth protection feature described here should be assumed to be operating.
Universe One is operated from the State of Florida, United States. These Terms and any dispute arising out of them or the Platform are governed by the laws of the State of Florida and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Subject to the arbitration provision below, you and we consent to exclusive jurisdiction and venue in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you waive any objection to that venue. Nothing here deprives you of a mandatory local consumer protection right that cannot be waived under the law of your own country or state, including the right to bring a claim before your local courts or authority where such right is non-waivable. Florida-specific acknowledgments: the Platform operates under Florida's electronic records and signatures law, so your acceptance by clicking or continuing use is a valid signature; Florida's computer-crimes and anti-hacking statutes apply to unauthorized access, and we may refer violations for prosecution; Florida law recognizes claims for defamation and requires a written pre-suit notice for certain media publications, and any such notice must be sent to the address in Section 47; Florida's recording and interception law is a two-party consent regime, so recording another member's audio or video without consent may be unlawful even if technically possible; and Florida's Digital Bill of Rights, Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, and data-breach notification statute govern our conduct where applicable. To the extent an arbitration agreement applies, arbitration will be seated in Florida under the U.S. Federal Arbitration Act, on an individual basis, with class, collective, mass, and representative proceedings waived to the fullest extent permitted; if any part of that waiver is unenforceable, the affected claim proceeds in Florida court while the rest of the arbitration agreement stands.
The Platform is accessible worldwide and is subject to overlapping legal regimes. At the federal level we operate under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act as an interactive computer service that does not adopt member speech as its own, subject to its exceptions including FOSTA-SESTA; the DMCA safe harbor and notice procedure; federal law requiring reporting of apparent child sexual abuse material, which we will report and preserve as required; the CAN-SPAM Act for commercial email; FTC Act Section 5 and the FTC Endorsement Guides for advertising, sponsorship, and testimonial disclosure; the Electronic Communications Privacy Act and Stored Communications Act for lawful process; and export control and sanctions law. At the state level, comprehensive privacy and consumer statutes — including but not limited to those of Florida, California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and Washington — may grant you access, correction, deletion, portability, appeal, and opt-out rights; state biometric statutes such as Illinois' BIPA and Texas' CUBI apply to biometric identifiers, which we do not intentionally derive from your media; and state age-verification, youth-safety, revenge-porn, anti-harassment, and unfair-trade statutes may apply to your conduct. At the local level, county and municipal ordinances may govern your own postings, solicitations, sales, permits, taxes, and gatherings, and you are solely responsible for those. Internationally, we honor applicable obligations under the EU and U.K. GDPR (including lawful bases, data-subject rights, and cross-border transfer safeguards), the EU Digital Services Act's transparency and notice-and-action expectations, Canada's PIPEDA and CASL, Brazil's LGPD, Australia's Privacy Act, and comparable regimes. You are responsible for whether your use of the Platform is lawful where you are; some jurisdictions restrict political commentary, encryption, anonymizing networks, or the content types the Platform permits, and we do not warrant availability or legality in any particular country. Where a mandatory local law conflicts with these Terms, that law controls for you only, and the remainder of these Terms remains in force.
These Terms are written to cover features that are planned, partially built, disabled, or foreseeable, so that a later release does not leave you without notice. This expressly includes, without limitation: the Marketplace and member-to-member commerce; member-created and self-serve advertising with budgets and billing; video upload, short-form and long-form video feeds, livestreaming and stories; expanded multimodal content screening; human review queues, in-app reporting, and formal appeals; verified identity, badges, and creator monetization; U1 Coin earning, spending, redemption, or retirement; paid products and sponsorship packages; group chats with member management, communities, and events; native iOS and Android applications with push notifications; SMS or voice messaging; API, MCP, and third-party integrations; agentic AI assistants that act on your data or on your behalf; and youth accounts under Section 40. No such feature is promised, and its appearance in code, settings, marketing, or these Terms is not a commitment to ship it. We reserve the right to introduce, gate, price, geofence, limit, disable, or permanently remove any feature; to impose new limits on storage, uploads, message volume, or AI usage; and to require additional consent, verification, or a separate agreement before a feature becomes available to you. Where a new feature materially changes how we use your data or what you owe us, we will update these Terms and the Privacy Policy and provide notice as described in Section 17 before that feature applies to you.
We respond to valid subpoenas, court orders, warrants, and other lawful process, and may preserve records upon a credible preservation request or where we reasonably believe preservation is required. Disclosure may include your account identifiers, sign-in provider email, profile data, IP and device logs, posts, comments, anonymous-submission attribution, messages, uploads, reports, and audit records. We may also disclose information without notice to you where we reasonably believe it is necessary to prevent imminent death or serious physical injury, to report apparent child sexual abuse material as federal law requires, to investigate suspected fraud or attacks against the Platform, or to protect our legal rights and those of our Sponsors and service providers. Where we are legally permitted, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you of process concerning your account, but we are not obligated to contest process on your behalf, to litigate to protect your data, or to delay compliance while you seek relief. Service of legal process, DMCA notices, defamation pre-suit notices, and data-request correspondence must be sent to the contact in Section 47; process sent through in-platform forms, comments, or messages to administrators is not effective service.
There is no public rate card, self-service ad purchase, media kit, or automated buying interface on the Platform, and none is offered by these Terms. Every advertising, sponsorship, placement, promotional, affiliate, co-marketing, or brand-integration arrangement is individually negotiated and must be arranged by contacting us directly through the contact channel in Section 47. Pricing, inventory, placement, frequency, audience parameters, creative specifications, reporting, and term are quoted case by case according to the Company's marketing needs at the time of the enquiry — including current inventory, editorial and audience considerations, category exclusivity, campaign scale and duration, and the state of the Platform's development — and any figure, estimate, projection, or availability we discuss is an indication only until both parties sign a written agreement. We may decline any prospective advertiser, sponsor, category, or creative for any lawful reason and without explanation, may reject or remove creative that is misleading, unlawful, unsafe, deceptive, or distasteful to members, and may change or withdraw quoted terms before signature. Nothing said in a call, email, form submission, or in-platform message constitutes an offer capable of acceptance, a reservation of inventory, a guarantee of impressions, clicks, reach, conversions, revenue, or performance, or an exclusive or renewal right. Amounts paid for delivered placements are non-refundable except as a signed agreement expressly provides, and no advertiser, sponsor, or agency acquires by these Terms any right to member data, targeting parameters, campaign analytics beyond what we choose to report, editorial influence over Platform or briefing content, or use of the Platform's marks beyond the scope a signed agreement grants.
The Platform's advertising system is expressly in a research-and-development phase and is operated as such during Beta. The Company currently runs third-party embedded advertising code (network-served units of the AdSense type) in order to research advertising behaviour on the Platform — measured through delivery rates, viewability, fill and failure rates, unique reach versus repeated views, click-through behaviour, placement density tolerance, category suitability, and yield across audiences and devices. The results of that research are how the Company will determine the cost, structure, and availability of its own advertising products in the future, and consequently no present or historical placement, price, discount, trial, complimentary run, or performance figure establishes a precedent, benchmark, most-favoured pricing, or entitlement for any later campaign or renewal. During this phase advertising formats, placement frequency, targeting parameters, measurement methodology, reporting, and pricing models may change, be paused, or be discontinued at any time and without notice; embedded units are served by third parties whose creatives, trackers, and pricing we do not control, may fail to load on filtered, VPN, or Tor connections, in which case the slot is skipped or filled by the Platform's own ad system, and metrics reported by those third parties may differ from ours. Members are advertised to as described in the Privacy Policy and may be shown either embedded third-party units or Platform units; no member acquires a right to an ad-free experience by these Terms other than through an active Ad-Free Subscription (Section 5), and advertisers acknowledge and accept that their Beta participation is part of a research programme conducted in the Company's discretion.

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of Universe One ("the Platform," "we," "us," or "our") in all U.S. states and territories and all countries where the Platform is accessible. We comply with applicable privacy and data protection laws including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, PIPEDA, LGPD, and other international frameworks.
Universe One acts as the Data Controller of your personal data. The primary contact for the site is Nicholas Ishak, at NicholasIshak@universeone.me
We collect the following categories of information:
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for targeted political advertising.
Universe One uses artificial intelligence to generate briefings, questions, solutions, images, and conversational responses. Your interactions, profile data, and published content may be used to improve and train AI models that power the Platform. Because published content is licensed as public domain under our Terms of Service, AI training may involve publicly posted material. Private messages are not used to author public briefings. If you do not want something used this way, do not publish it publicly; you may also contact us to object to specific AI training uses.
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data only in the following circumstances:
We do not share data with Meta (Facebook) or its advertising networks. The Platform actively blocks Meta tracking scripts and pixels.
We retain personal data only as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes. Published content may be retained indefinitely as public domain material. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest using industry-standard encryption. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute data security.
Universe One uses cookies and local storage to maintain sessions, remember preferences such as your content filter tier, and enhance the user experience. We actively block third-party tracking scripts from Meta/Facebook. The Platform may display sponsored placements in the feed, including advertisements delivered through third-party ad network code (such as Google AdSense-style embeds). Where a third-party ad network is used, that network may set its own cookies and collect data under its own privacy policy, which we do not control. Ads are placed by position in the feed rather than by profiling your personal characteristics. The cookie notice offers Accept, Deny, and Ad-Free Subscription. Deny switches off optional preference and analytics cookies, but it does not switch off advertising: advertising runs for every member without an active Ad-Free Subscription. The Platform's own sponsored placements are served from our servers and continue on VPN and Tor connections; third-party ad network code also runs, but may be blocked by some browsers, extensions, or networks, in which case a Platform placement may be shown instead. The Ad-Free Subscription is the only way to opt out of ads. Your choice and its timestamp are stored in your browser's local storage and a first-party cookie, and you can change it at any time with the "Cookie preferences" link.
Browser Cookie Controls: Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies or alert you when cookies are being sent. Refer to your browser's help documentation for instructions. Disabling cookies may affect Platform functionality, including staying signed in.
The Platform contains links to external news articles and third-party websites (e.g., sources cited in US National Events Updates). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these external sites. Review their policies before sharing personal information.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
California residents have additional rights under CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and opt out of the sale of personal information. Because we do not sell personal data, this right is not applicable, but you may still exercise your other rights.
Your data may be processed and stored outside your country of residence using appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
Universe One is restricted to adults aged 18 and older during Beta. We do not offer child accounts, parental controls, or guardian-managed accounts, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has created an account, contact the site's primary contact, Nicholas Ishak, at NicholasIshak@universeone.me and we will remove the account and associated data.
Because age is self-reported, if a person under 18 creates an account anyway, cookies and tracking run on that account just as they do for any other — sign-in and preference cookies, the in-app advertising system and its ad delivery records, and U1 Coin activity telemetry — until the account is discovered. The current system is not intended for use by children. An account found to belong to someone under 18 is banned, its U1 Coins and participation credits are forfeited, and its ad tracking and ad delivery records are deleted together with the rest of its data. Third-party ad networks may hold their own data collected in the browser, which we cannot delete on the member's behalf.
When you vote on AI-generated solutions, your vote is recorded to calculate community consensus. Aggregate voting results are displayed publicly. Individual vote records are linked to your account for fraud prevention but are not displayed to other users.
Universe One is not an emergency service. If you are experiencing a medical, psychological, or safety emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately. The Platform's AI systems are not equipped to provide crisis intervention.
If a data breach occurs that poses a risk to your rights or freedoms, we will notify affected users without undue delay and within the timeframe required by applicable law (generally within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach for GDPR-covered incidents, or as otherwise required).
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, features, or legal requirements. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-platform notification. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
When you create an account using Google, Apple, or email sign-in, the provider shares limited profile information with us — typically your name, email address, and a unique account identifier. We do not receive or store your password for those providers. Session tokens are stored in your browser to keep you signed in, and sessions may expire automatically after a period of inactivity for security.
Direct and group message text, typing and read-receipt signals, and conversation membership are stored so conversations can be delivered and displayed; members cannot attach media to messages during Beta. Messages are private between participants and are not reviewed by staff, but they are not end-to-end encrypted, are visible to every participant, and may be produced in response to a lawful legal request. Profile avatar and banner images are stored on our file storage infrastructure and are not sent to any AI or visual screening service; we do not extract facial recognition or biometric identifiers from your media. Deleted messages and posts are removed from view and purged from active systems on a rolling basis, though residual copies may persist briefly in backups.
Some onboarding and profile fields — including age, gender, race or ethnicity, location, relationship and family details, and personal reflections — are optional and are collected only with your consent to personalize briefings and recommendations. You may leave them blank, edit them, or remove them at any time in Settings. We do not use these fields for targeted political advertising, and we do not sell them. If you upload a government-issued ID, we retain a salted hash of the document number and the last four digits rather than the full number, along with the uploaded image, solely for age and authenticity checks; you may request its deletion at any time.
We do not collect phone numbers and do not send text messages during Beta. Phone verification and SMS notifications are not features of this version, so no phone number is requested, stored, or shared with an SMS provider. If SMS is added in a later release, this policy will be updated before any number is collected, and texts would require your separate consent.
We use a limited set of vetted processors, each bound by confidentiality and data-protection commitments:
Content you submit for AI processing may be transmitted to these model providers to generate a response. Do not include information in AI conversations that you would not want processed by a third-party model provider.
The Marketplace is not available to members during Beta, so no listing data is collected in this version. This section describes how the feature works whenever it is enabled. When you create a Marketplace listing, the listing content — including title, description, photos, price, condition, and the location you provide — is displayed publicly along with your display name and avatar. Favorites, views, and buyer-seller messages are recorded to operate the feature. Universe One is not a party to transactions between members and does not collect or hold payment for member-to-member sales; any payment or delivery arrangement you make is between you and the other member.
We use your follows, friendships, stated interests, location, watch history, and engagement signals to rank what appears in your feed, and your chosen filter tier to decide what is allowed to reach you. Automatic screening of submitted text only may block a submission or apply a temporary posting restriction without human review; image content is not screened. When you report or flag a post, comment, message, or member in the app, we store the report — including your account as the reporter, the reported content, and the reason — so it can be reviewed, counted against automatic community-flag thresholds, and protected from misuse; if you raise a concern through the contact form, we store the message you send and your email so it can be read and answered. These automated decisions do not produce legal effects, can be appealed by contacting us, and no permanent suspension is issued automatically.
Account and profile data are retained while your account is active and deleted on request. Messages and notifications are retained until deleted by a participant or until account deletion. Technical logs and diagnostic data are retained for a limited period for security and troubleshooting. Published content licensed as public domain under the Terms may be retained indefinitely, even after account deletion, and identifying details are disassociated from it where practicable.
You can export a copy of your data and permanently delete your account at any time from Settings → Data & Privacy, or by emailing us. Deletion removes your profile, private content, messages, and settings from active systems; published public-domain content may remain as described above. We respond to verified requests within the period required by applicable law (generally 30 to 45 days) and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You may also withdraw analytics or email consent at any time in your consent preferences.
The Platform does not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals in a standardized way. We do not sell your personal data to advertisers and do not build behavioral advertising profiles from your posts, messages, or Julia conversations. Where a third-party ad network placement is displayed, that network operates under its own policies and may collect data through its own scripts and cookies, which you can limit with browser or network-level ad blocking. Global Privacy Control signals will be honored where required by law.
We use access controls, row-level data restrictions, and encryption in transit and at rest to protect your data. As a Beta product, the Platform has not undergone independent security certification, and data may be reset, corrupted, or lost during Beta updates. Do not store information on the Platform that you cannot afford to lose or expose. If you discover a vulnerability, please report it to us privately rather than disclosing it publicly.
The Platform is directly sponsored by Neural System Designs and FutureSmart and may add further Sponsors. Sponsors do not receive your personal data. We do not sell, rent, or license your profile, posts, messages, journals, or Julia conversations to a Sponsor, advertiser, or data broker, and Sponsors have no editorial or database access. For in-app placements built inside the Platform, the only viewer information used is coarse and non-behavioral: the region text in your profile and your age, taken from your profile age or derived from a date of birth you supplied, matched against a placement's optional region list and age range. We additionally store, per member, a record of which in-app placements you have been shown — the placement, the first and last time you saw it, and a view count — alongside aggregate impression and click totals per placement and a timestamp of when a placement was last shown, so unique-reach limits, budgets, and U1 Coin ad-view rules can be enforced; these records are never shared with a Sponsor or advertiser and are not used to build an interest or political profile. For third-party embedded ad code, the external network's script runs in your browser within the slot allotted to it and may set its own cookies, read its own identifiers, and collect data under its own privacy policy — including data we never see and cannot delete on your behalf. Third-party ad code runs for every member without an active Ad-Free Subscription, whether the cookie notice was accepted, denied, or dismissed; denying cookies switches off optional preference and analytics cookies only. The Ad-Free Subscription is the only way to stop ad code from running on your account. We do not knowingly permit sensitive-category or political targeting of members through either path.
Julia's briefings are produced from publicly retrieved web material and administrator-supplied framing, not from your private data: your messages, journal entries, and private profile reflections are not used to author a public briefing. What we do store around generation for the US National Events Updates includes the generated text and images, cited source URLs and headlines, validation outcomes, de-duplication hashes, generation timestamps and run results, the internal email of an administrator who manually created or framed a briefing, the governing prompt text, and recurring-story configurations. Your interactions with Julia — the conversations you have, the cards you generate, questions and solutions you vote on, and cards you like or save — are stored under your account so the feature works and so votes are counted once; vote tallies are shown in aggregate, and individual votes are retained for fraud prevention rather than public display. Content you type into an AI conversation is transmitted to third-party model providers to produce a response, so do not include information you would not want processed off-Platform. Administrators with database access can, in the ordinary course of operating and repairing the Platform, view stored records including profile fields, posts, reports, audit logs, and — technically — message contents and the internal attribution behind anonymous submissions. Administrative actions on sensitive functions are logged. There is no routine human reading of member messages, but access is technically possible and is exercised where operationally or legally necessary.
You may access the Platform through a VPN, Tor, a proxy, or a private-relay service, and we do not block them. Because of this — and because profile location, age, and date of birth are self-reported — the location and identity data we hold is inherently unreliable, and we make no representation that regional advertising constraints, locality-based content, age gating, duplicate-account detection, or jurisdiction-specific handling are technically effective. Technical data we log for security and troubleshooting, such as IP address, approximate network location, device and browser details, and usage timestamps, may therefore describe an exit node rather than you; it may also aggregate many unrelated users behind one address, which can cause rate limits to trigger sooner and can make log attribution inaccurate. Anonymizing networks may also break sign-in, session persistence, uploads, link previews, and embedded ad code. Using them does not remove your obligations under the laws of your actual location, and where a lawful request compels us, we disclose the records we actually hold — which may be less useful, or misleading, precisely because such tools were used. We do not attempt to fingerprint, defeat, or unmask anonymizing technology.
When you post a comment, question, solution, or tip with your name hidden, other members do not see your identity, but the submission remains internally linked to your account for abuse prevention, duplicate-vote prevention, rate limiting, and legal compliance. That internal link is visible to administrators with database access and is disclosable in response to lawful process, and it is retained for as long as the content or the associated security record is retained. Anonymity is display-level and defeasible in practice: writing style, timing, unique facts, screenshots, republication under your own name, or a defect in a query or interface can reveal authorship. Anonymous content is also published under the public-domain license in the Terms and may be retained indefinitely even after account deletion, with identifying details disassociated where practicable. If untraceability matters to your safety, do not rely on this feature. We may rate-limit, cap, screen, or disable anonymous submission to reduce harassment, doxxing, and manipulation.
We operate from the State of Florida and handle personal data under Florida's Digital Bill of Rights, Florida's data-breach notification statute, and the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act where applicable, in addition to the state comprehensive privacy laws of California (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Washington, and other states as they take effect. Depending on your state you may have the right to confirm and access the personal data we hold, correct inaccuracies, delete it, obtain a portable copy, opt out of targeted advertising, sale, and profiling with legal effects, limit the use of sensitive personal information, appeal a denial of a request, and be free from retaliation for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal data, do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and do not use it for targeted political advertising, so those opt-outs are unnecessary — but you may still exercise every other right. We honor recognized universal opt-out and Global Privacy Control signals where the law requires. Sensitive categories you optionally provide (such as race or ethnicity, precise-sounding location, health-adjacent reflections, or an identification document) are collected with your consent for personalization and age checks only, and may be removed by you at any time. Requests are verified against your account and answered within the statutory period, generally 30 to 45 days, with one permitted extension; if we deny a request we will explain why and how to appeal.
Data is processed and stored in the United States, including Florida, and by service providers that may operate elsewhere. For members in the EU, U.K., Switzerland, and other regions with transfer restrictions, transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful mechanism, and you may request information about the safeguards used. Our legal bases are: performance of our contract with you (operating your account and features you request), legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, product improvement, and aggregate analytics), consent (optional profile fields, analytics and email preferences, and any future SMS or youth features), and legal obligation (lawful process, retention, and reporting duties). Under GDPR and comparable regimes you may also object to processing based on legitimate interests, restrict processing, withdraw consent without affecting prior lawful processing, and complain to your supervisory authority. Canadian, Brazilian, and Australian members hold equivalent access, correction, deletion, and complaint rights under PIPEDA, the LGPD, and the Australian Privacy Act respectively. Automated decisions on the Platform — tier-based text screening, ranking, and temporary posting restrictions — are described in Section 23; none produce legal or similarly significant effects, and you may contact us for human consideration.
During Beta we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18, no child or guardian-managed accounts exist, and an account discovered to belong to a minor is removed together with its data. This Section is foundational and applies only if and when youth access is expressly enabled in a later release, which will be preceded by an updated policy and a separate notice. When enabled, the intended framework is: verifiable parental consent before any account for a child under 13 as COPPA requires, with a direct notice to the parent describing exactly what is collected and why; guardian approval to activate accounts for young teens; strict-by-default content filtering, private-by-default profiles, and restricted messaging for all minors; no behavioral advertising, no sale or sharing, no profiling, and no anonymous submission for minors; collection limited to what a feature genuinely needs, with no unnecessary sensitive categories; guardian rights to review, correct, export, and delete the child's data and to revoke consent and close the account; retention limited to the period the account is active; and an automatic transition to an independent adult account at 18, at which point guardian visibility ends. Guardian-facing tools such as activity reporting, permission requests, screen-time limits, and grounding controls would be logged, bounded by the minor's own privacy interests, and disclosed to the minor. This framework anticipates COPPA and FTC rules, Florida's statute on minors' social media accounts and parental consent, state age-appropriate design and age-verification laws, the U.K. Age Appropriate Design Code, and GDPR Article 8. Until that notice is published, assume none of these youth mechanisms is operating.
We protect data with encryption in transit and at rest, row-level access restrictions, server-side handling of sensitive writes, platform-role administrator checks, sandboxed rendering of third-party ad code, rate limiting, and audit logging of administrative actions. We also disclose the limits plainly: the Beta Platform has no independent security certification or penetration-test attestation; uploaded imagery is not screened by any automated or AI system — adult imagery is prohibited but enforced only through member reports and administrator removal, and uploads are limited to profile avatar and banner images with no media attachments in posts or messages; text screening is keyword-based, evadable, and applied according to your own filter tier; messages are not end-to-end encrypted; self-reported identity and location data are unverified; third-party embedded code and external links are outside our control; and Beta updates may reset, corrupt, or lose data. The Terms describe these risks and their mitigations in detail. Do not store on the Platform anything you cannot afford to lose or to have exposed. If you discover a vulnerability, report it privately to us and do not exploit it, publicly disclose it, or access another member's data; good-faith, non-destructive research reported privately will not draw legal action from us. If a breach creates risk to your rights, we notify affected members and regulators within the periods required by Florida law, other applicable state breach statutes, and GDPR Article 33 where relevant.
Advertising on the Platform is in a research-and-development phase, and part of that research is conducted through third-party embedded advertising code (network-served units of the AdSense type) shown alongside Platform-served ads. What we measure for that research is delivery and engagement data — whether a unit loaded or failed, how many distinct people saw it as opposed to how many times it was displayed, clicks, and the placement and device context — and these findings are what will determine the cost and structure of our advertising products in future releases. Platform-served ads may be matched to you using only the region and age range you entered in your profile; that matching is performed on our servers, and an advertiser never receives your identity, email, profile, precise location, date of birth, messages, or browsing history. If your region or age is unknown to us — including where a VPN, Tor, or proxy connection means we hold no reliable location, or where you have not supplied it — you are simply excluded from region- and age-matched ads and are shown untargeted or embedded units instead; we do not attempt to infer, purchase, or reconstruct your location or identity from your network connection. Embedded third-party units are delivered by their own networks under their own privacy policies and may set their own cookies or identifiers and collect data directly from your browser once loaded; we never pass them your account data, identity, or profile, but their collection is governed by their terms, not ours, and blocking third-party scripts prevents it entirely. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. Advertisers and sponsors receive only aggregate campaign reporting we choose to provide, and they may not obtain member-level data, budgets, targeting parameters, or performance figures belonging to other advertisers. Ad measurement can be limited by declining optional analytics consent in Settings → Data & Privacy and by blocking third-party ad scripts in your browser.
For privacy questions, data requests, rights appeals, or complaints, the primary contact for this site is Nicholas Ishak, reachable at NicholasIshak@universeone.me. Signed-in members can also use the contact form in the Control Center inside the app.
